Black Cohosh is a tall beauty of cool, rich woods throughout all of eastern North America. In mid summer, regal spires of white flowers arch above clumps of coarsely toothes leaves that resemble giant ferns. The effect is stately and cooling because, by definition, Black Cohosh only grows in nice cool places with good rich soil. Pair it up with a broad leaved shrub like Spreading Hydrangea and some shorter ferns, and you're all set to relax in the shade. Cat# 1542
