Plant Description

‘Lemon Meringue’ is a vigorous yellow Baptisia or false indigo developed by Hans Hansen in Michigan. It is the first yellow flowering baptisia in his DECADENCE™ Series which has been bred for their shorter, more compact habit, and unique flower coloration. ‘Lemon Meringue’ forms an upright, vase-shaped mound about 30 to 36 inches tall and wide, of attractive blue-green foliage topped with long, charcoal stems that carry lemon yellow flowers in late spring to early summer, followed by decorative seed pods in fall. The contrast of dark stems with light flowers really pops in the landscape. Give it full sun, and average to dry soil. It is easy, long-lived, and will become a favorite in your garden. A Proven Winner.
