Plant Description

Carex laxiculmis, native to much of the eastern United States, grows in rich, moist woods, and it has dark green, narrow, evergreen leaves. This variety, 'Bunny Blue', has silver-blue leaves just under 1/2" wide, and forms rounded clumps around a foot tall and wide. Use it as a clumping ground cover or border plant in shade and good, moist soil. As with all Carex, a late winter hair cut will keep it tidy.
