Plant Description

New England Aster produces masses of 1 to 3 inch flower heads with showy deep violet, blue, or pink rays and prominent yellow centers. Aster Novae-Angliae plants may grow up to 4 feet tall or more and equally as wide. These purple Aster plants grow in fertile, moist soil in full sun to partial shade. Good for middle or rear of perennial border or a meadow. Flowering for New England Asters peaks in early July, but goes on for a good 2 months.
