Strawberry Geranium

Plant Description

Since I grew up knowing this plant as a hanging basket house plant, I was surprised to see it growing as a hardy ground cover in Connecticut. Clumps grow to about 3 or 4 inches high are silver veined above and reddish, hairy beneath and spread rapidly by means of thread-like, pink runners sprouting new little clumps everywhere in shade and moist soil. The beautiful foliage and ability to spread quickly make this a good evergreen ground cover for southern gardens.
