Plant Description

Avondale Wood Aster is a selection of the wild type which is common in the woods of the southeastern mountains and surrounding areas. It is a lovely fall blooming aster for shade or sun, and can help bring fall color to the wood's edge with its many branched inflorescences of 3/4 inch pale lavender-blue and yellow flower heads. Avondale is more compact and a more prolific bloomer than the species. Give it good soil and bright light. Use it in masses for a beautiful fall display
