Pot Size: 5 inch pot

Plant Description

Trillium simile is limited in distribution in the wild, occurring only in moist, humus-rich soil, in several mountainous areas of the southern Appalachians often along stream banks. But where it is happy, there may be hundreds in glorious flower in mid-spring. It has a very beautiful, outward-facing, white stalked flower with a sweet fragrance like apples, and a dark purple-black ovary. This pleasant scent is the way you can tell it apart from the white form of stinking Benjamin. Sweet white trillium definitely needs good drainage! It often grows with Trillium vaseyi on very steep slopes. All our trilliums are nursery propagated from seed and are at least 8 years old. Dormant shipping only.
