Plant Description

‘Haas Halo’ is a superb variant of our native smooth hydrangea, and was introduced by Plants Nouveau. It was selected as superior because it has strong, sturdy, erect stems, deep bluish-green, glossy foliage, and huge, 14”, pure white, lace-cap blooms all summer into fall. Unlike its native parents who really do not like drought, this one can handle drought (once established) and a long, hot summer full of heat and humidity according to Plants Nouveau. Plant it as a specimen or massed along a woodland edge where it will receive morning sun and average to moist soil. An added benefit is that the huge flowers dry to a beautiful tan and make lovely dried arrangements. New this year.
